Dr Kai Xu is a co-investigator on the EPSRC grant RAMP VIS that aims to support epidemiologists in the fight against Covid19. It started as a volunteer effort, led by Prof. Min Chen from Oxford University. A team of 20 visualisation researchers from over 10 different universities worked closely with epidemiologists who are modelling various aspects of Covid-19, such as its spread and the effect of different self-isolation policies. The team made considerable progress in a short span of time and later received funding from EPSRC to continue the work. The grant will last one (2021-2022), and the total amount is £430,000. More details are available on the UKRI website.
