Professor Juan Carlos Augusto, from Middlesex University, served as Programme Co-Chair of the 22nd International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE2026), held from 15 to 18 June 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal. The conference, delivered in hybrid mode, brought together an international community of researchers, academics, industry professionals and practitioners to explore the latest developments in intelligent environments, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, sensing technologies, context-aware systems, pervasive computing and the Internet of Things.
Now in its twenty-second year, the International Conference on Intelligent Environments is recognised as a major annual venue in this research area, providing a global forum for the exchange of ideas, research findings and innovation in smart, adaptive and technology-enhanced spaces. Professor Augusto’s role as Programme Co-Chair reflects his recognised expertise and Middlesex University’s continued contribution to international research and collaboration in the field of intelligent environments.
