Ali, Dr Kamran

Biography & Qualifications

Dr Kamran Ali, a member of Middlesex University since 2020, holds the position of Senior Lecturer in the Computer Science Department within the Faculty of Science and Technology. Dr Ali is a PhD in Communication Architecture Design, supported by the Newton Fund/British Council Institute. He embodies a profound dedication to both teaching and research.

His academic journey reflects a deep-rooted commitment to upholding standards of excellence and quality within academia. Dr Ali’s research portfolio is expansive, encompassing diverse domains such as IoT, wireless cooperative networks, D2D communication, critical communication systems, as well as cluster and cloud computing. Notably, his interdisciplinary research approach delves into technological innovations, big data analytics, and cybersecurity, with a keen focus on shaping the digital future and adapting to cutting-edge technological paradigms.

In his current capacity, Dr. Ali plays pivotal roles as both Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Principal Investigator (CoPI) on numerous international projects, spearheading endeavours at the forefront of innovation and knowledge advancement.

Recognized as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), Dr. Ali’s commitment to educational excellence is further underscored. Actively engaged in the academic community, he serves as a valued member of technical programme committees for several IEEE conferences, leveraging his expertise as a discerning technical reviewer for esteemed IEEE publications. Additionally, Dr. Ali has demonstrated leadership as a Technical Programme Committee (TPC) chair, further enriching scholarly discourse and collaboration within the academic realm.

I carry out research, teaching, and consultancy in Computer Networks and design. I am experienced with an excellent understanding of communication network architecture design and sharing information systems.
